Queens 3 - 2 Grilled
was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 18000 that came out to The Palacce.
Mauricio Andrés Frutos was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Enrico Besenzon and
Joosep Olesk. Queens decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. The following players had been chosen: Eggskog - van Veldhoven, Krawczyk, Sehr - Yao Tong, Chidchob, Meišelis, Graffin, bin Sabtu - Altman, Robayo.
Grilled started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. Lineup: Abed-Sulaiman - Alcántara, Tuan-Mu, Siu-Cheung - Wai Meng, Chuan Jing, Abd Hamid, Swee Pheng, Ødegaard - Simon, Hjortlind.
Queens immediately set off using their skill at pressing their opponents. Grilled seemed to prefer attacking in the middle. After 10 minutes, Queens raised their score by one when
Yip Yao Tong's dangerous low cross was cleverly tucked in at the near post by
Avraham Altman. 1 - 0. The pressing tactics used by Queens were successful at containing their opponents. Queens put in a good effort on the right, but
Jalaludin bin Sabtu saw his volley fly wide of the mark 32 minutes into the game. Queens put themselves up 2 - 0 when
Yip Yao Tong broke through on the right, leaving the entire defensive box behind him. 2 - 0 was the halftime score. Queens held the ball, with a clear 68 percent of possession.
Queens's
Dimitri Graffin was delighted to score the 3 - 0 goal after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper and into the net, following some good attacking movement on the right wing after 46 minutes. Grilled's
Ulf Hjortlind was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 48 minutes.
Allan Ødegaard's speed was clear to see after 70 minutes as he darted past his marker and struck an opening pass to
Ulf Hjortlind who scored the 3-1 goal.
Bukhari Abd Hamid was the first to reach the corner kick, but his header was blocked by the keeper. However, Grilled's
Lan Tuan-Mu managed to get hold of the rebound and scored the 3-2 goal. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Queens's
Rutger van Veldhoven got himself booked. This half belonged to Queens, who controlled the ball 69 percent of the time.
The most dominating Queens player was without a doubt
Chawalit Chidchob.
Avraham Altman on the other hand, had a terrible day. Grilled's top performer was clearly
Ahmed Abed-Sulaiman. However,
Kau Siu-Cheung made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 3 - 2.
