Today, never's strategy involved concentrating on the flanks for their attacks. never's Andreas Sunesson gave the visitors a 0 - 1 lead after 2 minutes with a superb strike from the right. 4 minutes in, Grilled's Sylweriusz Zywczyn received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Due to a severely mistimed tackle, Kalle Riis of never spent some time on the grass writhing in agony before he could get up and continue the game. never's Ángel Ferrer's early cross saw the defenders caught out of position and the alert Stefan Nilsson was able to pounce and roll the ball past the hapless goalkeeper to make the score 0 - 2. Stefan Nilsson's speed is always a threat when he gets a little room to move, and 12 minutes into the match was no different as he broke free of his man to send a snappy through ball to Andreas Sunesson who knocked it in for never. 0-3! Just a few inches to the right, and the visitors could have had a goal 19 minutes into the match. Ángel Ferrer surely wishes he could do that free kick over again. Clever play that showed his experience gave Sjakie Muris a good chance to score, but the shot hit the crossbar. After the ball was lifted in from the left, Li Chun-fai was on his own in the home side's penalty area and should have scored after 35 minutes, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration. 41 minutes had been played and the home team was awarded a penalty. The guest's keeper dived the right way, but Sylweriusz Zywczyn was still able to reduce the score to 1 - 3. 1 - 3 was the halftime score. never held the ball, with a clear 55 percent of possession.

After 53 minutes of play, Grilled's Hidde van Liere unexpectedly struck an inside out ball from no angle at all and Ola Martinsson forwarded it into goal for 2 - 3. Ahmed Abed-Sulaiman got a fingertip on Grigore Morariu's shot from the left 57 minutes in, and managed to keep the visitors from going up another goal. The referee showed Grilled's Anders Fredgård the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Grilled had to make a substitution after 61 minutes. Ahmed Abed-Sulaiman limped off the field and was replaced by Hang Bao-Tam. The game had been on for 76 minutes when Joakim Ovesson broke through on the right, upping the score for never to 2 - 4, much to the home crowd's dismay. A marvellous Grilled effort on the right-hand side resulted in a goal after 80 minutes by Lee Jie Siong, making the score 3 - 4. 81 minutes into the game, never worked the left side industriously creating several opportunities to add to their lead, but just couldn't apply the finishing touch. After 82 minutes of play, Ola Martinsson equalised for Grilled after an elegant attack from the right. never claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 57 percent.

The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt Lorenz Paullin. Hang Bao-Tam turned in a dismal performance, however. never's top performer was clearly Li Chun-fai. Emil Mlotek was a disappointment, however. The match ends 4 - 4.
