Chemistry mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle. Grilled used their skill at pressing to cut off the attack angles of their opponents all over the field. After 3 minutes of play,
Qin Caen-Khim gave the home team a 1 - 0 lead after an attack coming in from the right. Grilled pressed their opponents, causing the game to be a bit of a stalemate at times. Chemistry had to make a substitution after 35 minutes.
Mohamed El Boubakri limped off the field and was replaced by
Shahrulnizam Ladzim. It was 1 - 0 at the break. Chemistry claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 56 percent.
A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Chemistry's
Eric Niklasson putting the lead up to 2 - 0. Chemistry's
Michael Bryant placed the ball right at his teammate's feet after a corner, but
Zong Kum-Leong couldn't finish. Things were going to get worse for the visitors.
Yusman bin Salim squirmed himself through their central defence after 78 minutes, bringing the lead to 3 - 0. Confident in their lead, Chemistry decided to play a more defensive game at this point. Cheers filled the stadium as
Shahrulnizam Ladzim broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the 4 - 0 goal for Chemistry. The forty-five minutes were dominated by Chemistry, with an impressive 59 percent possession of the ball.
Chemistry's best player was
Michael Bryant. However,
Martin Železnik made a disastrous appearance. Grilled's top performer was clearly
Ahmed Abed-Sulaiman.
Lee Jie Siong turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 4 - 0.
