Herron seemed to prefer attacking in the middle. Shu Chit-Fu came close to putting the visiting team one up 29 minutes into the match, following a solo raid down the middle, but Ahmed Abed-Sulaiman managed to tip the ball to a corner. Herron took the lead 32 minutes into the game, scoring the 0 - 1 goal after some elegant plays down the middle. Pontus Molstål was the scorer. Almost all the way down to the corner flag, Herron's Richard Ashton somehow managed to get a perfect pass into the middle, impossible to miss for Shu Chit-Fu, who struck for 0 - 2. Richard Ashton of Herron was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. 37 minutes into the game, Herron were awarded a penalty and Chen Haupai was able to increase the visitors' lead to 0 - 3 rolling the ball in by the right post. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 3. This half belonged to Herron, who controlled the ball 56 percent of the time.

The home crowd was not impressed when Shu Chit-Fu came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 73 minutes. Herron were now up 0 - 4. Confident in their lead, Herron decided to play a more defensive game at this point. The visitors' Peng Phong took advantage of an error due to a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and central backs 79 minutes into the match. 0 - 5 for Herron. 84 minutes into the match Grilled's Dani Spirig head butted an opponent nastily, and so the referee sent him off immediately. Grilled had to make a substitution after 85 minutes. Lorenz Paullin limped off the field and was replaced by Lee Jie Siong. Niclas Ulfsson was, after 87 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but home side's keeper Ahmed Abed-Sulaiman made the save. Herron came close to extending their lead as Nie Yong-chul delivered a low effort on goal from the right after 88 minutes, but the angle was too narrow and the shot went harmlessly into the side netting. The visitors' Shu Chit-Fu took advantage of an error due to a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and central backs 89 minutes into the match. 0 - 6 for Herron. That made three goals for Shu Chit-Fu and he was marked down for the hat trick. The forty-five minutes were dominated by Herron, with an impressive 68 percent possession of the ball.
