01 January 2022

It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 12000 that came out to Stadium of Light. Steven Tyler was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Kristian Fläschner and Mu'tasim Al Muaawda. The weather was sunny, which meant perfect conditions for technical players in both teams. However, it was also quite warm, which meant quick or physically strong players were drained faster and couldn't play their best game. The following players took the field for Fofos19: Rong Ming - Wan Kim, Heng Kim, Tian Kiong, Kang - Ho Ping, Saeteurn, Kok Ah, Yu - Nguyen, Loong Jin.

Grilled's lineup was: Marcol - Himadas, 其材 (Qicai) - Reddy, Khairul, Keng Chuan, Kwang Tse, Trindade - Thach, Chitre, An Keng.

The teams had chosen different formations for the match. Home team Fofos19 went for 4-4-2 while Grilled Birds has decided to play a 2-5-3 lineup. A mistake by the home side's central defence after 8 minutes allowed Lim An Keng to score for Grilled. The scoreboard now read 0 - 1. After 15 minutes, Grilled's Chia Kwang Tse burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 2. After 16 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave Gandhik Chitre a chance to increase the lead for Grilled, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 3. After 35 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for Paulino Trindade who increased Grilled's lead to 0 - 4. Gandhik Chitre almost seemed to dance around Chow Wan Kim, his movements were so smooth. Unfortunately for Grilled, his finish ended up on the wrong side of the post. The visitors' Mohd Marzuki Khairul took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 39 minutes into the match. 0 - 5 for Grilled. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave Tham Loong Jin from Fofos19 a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 41 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! After 42 minutes, Radomil Marcol strained his groin quite severely and had to be helped off the field by the physio. The player that took his place was Dimitris Germanakos. Halftime score was 0 - 5. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 77 percent.

With 55 minutes played, Grilled put themselves up 0 - 6 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was Paulino Trindade. Grilled's Chia Kwang Tse got himself booked for a foul. Paulino Trindade received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 63 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 7. The Grilled fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. By then Paulino Trindade had scored three goals - a hat trick! Raúl Himadas could have added one to the visitors' lead if his free kick had gone just a little lower. The home crowd cheered when, after 75 minutes, Gandhik Chitre's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day. After 88 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving Raúl Himadas off the field. Damian Hutter took his place. With Raúl Himadas no longer on the pitch, Aw Keng Chuan became the new set pieces taker. Aw Keng Chuan would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. Chan Ze Han" class="awayplayer">Chan Ze Han entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 89 minutes. With Aw Keng Chuan no longer on the pitch, Chan Ze Han" class="awayplayer">Chan Ze Han took over free kick duty. The referee decided to let play continue for an additional 3 minutes beyond the regular 90 minutes. Liao Rong Ming got a fingertip on Chia Kwang Tse's shot from the left 90 minutes in, and managed to keep the visitors from going up another goal. The match ends 0 - 7. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 77 percent of the ball.

Fofos19's top performer was clearly Chow Wan Kim. Gandhik Chitre performed admirably for Grilled.
