Earthquakes FC fielded a 3-5-2 lineup. For Grilled Birds, the formation of choice was a 2-5-3. Grilled mostly ignored the flanks in favor of their divine (+8) (28) ability to attack in the middle. Given a free kick from an impossible angle, Earthquakes went for a play that loyal fans may recognize from training. A square ball surprised the defense and let
Jason Frederick slip through at goal. He hit it first time, making the score 1 - 0, 7 minutes into the game.
Jason Frederick had a fantastic opportunity to put Earthquakes up another goal 15 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar.
Paulino Trindade managed to make an excellent pass from the wing, but
Lim An Keng was not as skillful and couldn't finish it off. After more pushing and shoving than a pack of helicopter moms trying to get the last appointment for their snowflakes to see the Easter Bunny, Earthquakes's
Gaash Raichner finally got himself booked for a foul. 1 - 0 was the halftime score. Let's go to Bluesky to see what the fans think of the game so far! says The clock read 59 minutes and things were deteriorating for the away team as Earthquakes scored another to make it 2 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for
Emmanuel Makubuya. Earthquakes put themselves up 3 - 0 when
Denagan Honfo Djinadou broke through on the right, leaving the entire defensive delegation behind him. The home team's fans were not happy with
Raúl Himadas's great free kick for the visitors that resulted in Grilled reducing the score to 3 - 1. 80 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Mohd Marzuki Khairul gave
Gandhik Chitre a quick hug as he left the field. Grilled's
Chad Thach placed the ball right at his teammate's feet after a corner, but
Lim An Keng couldn't finish. A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased Earthquakes's lead to 4 - 1 as
Gustavo Adolfo Sotelo finished it off clinically, firing the shot from a terrible angle. It was announced by the fourth official that he estimated stoppage time to be around 2 minutes. This meant there could still be an extra attack or two left in the match! The match ends 4 - 1. Possession of the ball was split evenly between the teams during the forty-five minutes.
Most important Earthquakes player was
Chasid Bleich. Even six year old fans were wincing at the poor play by
Todor Sirakov today. Grilled's top performer was clearly
Lim An Keng. You can tell it was nickel beer night yesterday at the local bar because
Dimitris Germanakos seemed to stumble all over the pitch.
