Grilled 7 - 2 Bunnys

The spectators at the stadium today were in for an afternoon of sunshine. The intense heat made it hard for players relying on strength or speed to shine. On the other hand, it provided perfect conditions for the more technical players. The following players had been selected: Germanakos - Himadas, 其材 (Qicai) - Reddy, Thach, Keng Chuan, Teck Fu, Trindade - Kwang Tse, An Keng, Khairul.

They fielded: Wijn - Petev, Atelj - O'Donoghue, Pereira, Jaschke, Rihti, Zdzieszyński - Al-Khulaifi, Al-Nahdy, Miličević.

Both teams came out with a similar approach to the match, having chosen to start with a 2-5-3 formation. Grilled seemed to prefer attacking in the middle, using their divine (+8) (28) ability to great effect. A excellent (8) level of counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of Bunnys. The home side put themselves ahead 1 - 0 after 3 minutes of hard work with a breakthrough from Lim An Keng, who, all by his lonesome, came out of the right wing and hooked the ball over the visitors' keeper. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Grilled's Paulino Trindade bringing the lead up to 2 - 0. Paulino Trindade made one of his many fine passes from the wing into the middle with 8 minutes played. Chia Kwang Tse went to the air and hit the ball firmly with his forehead for Grilled. 3 - 0. With 13 minutes on the clock, Raúl Himadas could have extended the lead, but his rocket of a free kick went just over the bar. Bunnys caught their opponents out with a clever counter-attack down the right wing 14 minutes into the game. Angel Petev was there to finish off the move - 3 - 1! Given a free kick in a difficult position after 21 minutes, Grilled tried a variation that they had practiced in training. The kick was sent into the area just in front of the keeper, however, the defense were on their toes and allowed no space for a finish. Raúl Himadas gave Grilled supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 4 - 1 after 28 minutes, following a good exchange of passes on the right that the away team failed to deal with. Halftime score was 4 - 1. Now to our celebrity commentator for a hot take. Over to you, Snoop! Grilled had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle instead. Aw Keng Chuan had a fantastic opportunity to put Grilled up another goal 53 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar. After more pushing and shoving than a pack of helicopter moms trying to get the last appointment for their snowflakes to see the Easter Bunny, Grilled's Aw Keng Chuan finally got himself booked for a foul. 61 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defense had to look on as Chad Thach ran straight through, knocking one home to make it 5 - 1 for Grilled. 62 minutes into the game, Bunnys seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a weak (4) level of organization. Central attacks were the recipe of the day for Grilled, and they were successfully passing the ball from the wing into the middle at the behest of their coach. Cheers filled the stadium as Mohd Marzuki Khairul broke through the visitors' central defense to put away the 6 - 1 goal for Grilled. The visitors replied 67 minutes into the game, reducing the lead to 6 - 2, as Sönke Jaschke dashed up the middle and chipped the ball over the home team's keeper. The home side's Raúl Himadas twisted a free kick home with 70 minutes played, putting Grilled ahead 7 - 2. 75 minutes into the game, Bunnys wanted to bring some new energy to their game. Adrian Zdzieszyński gave Nis Primdal a quick hug as he left the field. As the 89 minute mark approached, the Grilled manager decided it was time for a substitution. Aw Keng Chuan reluctantly made way for Damian Hutter. As the match nears its end, the referee deemed it appropriate to add 3 minutes as stoppage time. The match ends 7 - 2. Well, look at this! Cardi B is on the Enormotron in naught but giant sunglasses and a Beep Boop tank top. I've not seen anything like it before. Grilled's top performer was clearly Lim An Keng. I can't remember Dimitris Germanakos ever having a worse night than he just had. The most outstanding Bunnys player was without a doubt Jadranko Miličević. Good thing Nis Primdal isn't a horse, because he'd surely be sent to the glue factory after that performance.
