As the teams spread out over the pitch, it became clear that they would both be using a 2-5-3 formation today. Grilled seemed to prefer attacking in the middle, using their divine (+8) (28) ability to great effect. Despite the fact that he was falling backwards,
夏 (Ha) 其材 (Qicai) still managed to send an excellent header goalwards. The crossbar is the keeper's best friend though, and the ball bounced harmlessly out of play.
Chan Ze Han gave Grilled the 1 - 0 lead, as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then placed the ball at the keeper's right post – what a clinical finish!
Chan Ze Han could have put Grilled up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 19 minutes. With 30 minutes played, Grilled's
Mohd Marzuki Khairul received a yellow card for challenging a play with his cleats first. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 0. Well, look at this! Cardi B is on the Enormotron in naught but giant sunglasses and a Twisted Metal F.C. tank top. I've not seen anything like it before. Grilled solidified their lead at the 57 minute mark, as
Chan Ze Han snaked the ball through the central line of defense and finished for 2 - 0. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Grilled's
Chia Kwang Tse bringing the lead up to 3 - 0.
András Fekete was doing a great job on the wing, sending in a brilliant pass to his teammates in the middle, but
Antonio Zagli seemed unable to profit from this excellent service. Borgo fought on, and after 79 minutes,
Jean-Philippe Stahlman was able to increase the goal tally to 3 - 1 after some excellent moves on the right side were finished off with a smart lob. 85 minutes into the match, the referee signaled for a Grilled substitution.
Bilal Mohammad Harun came on for
Chan Ze Han. With
Chan Ze Han no longer on the field,
Aw Keng Chuan stepped up to be the new set pieces taker. The players were tired, but when the referee announced that there would be 1 minutes of added time, they welcomed the extra opportunity to make an impact. The match ends 3 - 1. Looks like Nate Silver was right again - his prediction that Grilled would have 51 percent possession in this half was spot on!
Grilled's best player was
Lim An Keng. You can tell it was nickel beer night yesterday at the local bar because
Bilal Mohammad Harun seemed to stumble all over the pitch. Borgo's top performer was clearly
Claudio Grandi Tognacci. I can't remember
Serafino Lodolini ever having a worse night than he just had.
