Grilled 6 - 1 ermita
Weather conditions were pretty good for football today. They fielded:
Germanakos -
Keng Chuan,
其材 (Qicai) -
Reddy,
Thach,
Kwang Tse,
Khairul,
Teck Fu -
Chitre,
Ze Han,
An Keng.
ermita came rather unprepared to the game, as the manager had not been around for a while. The club functionaries had to nominate the lineup instead. The following players took the field:
Glória -
Capaccioli,
Zuleta,
Nijenhuis -
Feneşer,
Huicab,
Quiroz,
Diez,
Diller -
Muengwong,
Northausen.
Grilled Birds trundled out to the pitch in a 2-5-3 formation. The visitors, La ermita F.C, chose to start the game with a 3-5-2 lineup. Grilled used their divine (+8) (28) ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the field. 0 - 1 was the score after 11 minutes, when ermita's
Luis Diez cut through the central defense and pounded one in. With 12 minutes played, ermita's
Jhoan Zuleta received a yellow card for challenging a play with his cleats first. Some hard work on the right gave Grilled a wonderful opportunity to level the score after 29 minutes, and
Chia Kwang Tse stepped up to the challenge, netting the 1 - 1 goal.
Chia Kwang Tse gave Grilled the 2 - 1 lead, as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then placed the ball at the keeper's right post – what a clinical finish! Things were going from bad to worse for the visitors.
Hwang Teck Fu was able to squirm through the central defense after 38 minutes and score, bringing the lead to 3 - 1. It was 3 - 1 at the break. Well, look at this! Cardi B is on the Enormotron in naught but giant sunglasses and a Twisted Metal F.C. tank top. I've not seen anything like it before. 46 minutes into the match, the referee signaled for a Grilled substitution.
Joe Reece came on for
Chan Ze Han. As
Chan Ze Han left the field, the coach signaled to
Aw Keng Chuan to be the new set pieces taker. 50 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defense had to look on as
Gandhik Chitre ran straight through, knocking one home to make it 4 - 1 for Grilled. After 70 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as ermita found themselves out of position and their organization level dropped to solid (7). A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Grilled's
Chad Thach bringing the lead up to 5 - 1. Grilled players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead. Cheers filled the stadium as
Chad Thach broke through the visitors' central defense to put away the 6 - 1 goal for Grilled. 79 minutes in, ermita appeared unsure on how to play and their organization was only passable (6). As the 85 minute mark approached, the Grilled manager decided it was time for a substitution.
Brian 'Was Born' Reddy reluctantly made way for
Paulino Trindade. The players were tired, but when the referee announced that there would be 3 minutes of added time, they welcomed the extra opportunity to make an impact. The match ends 6 - 1. Grilled did a good job holding on to the ball, with 68 percent of possession. We'll be back after these interminable commercial messages.
Most important Grilled player was
Gandhik Chitre. Speaking of stinking up the place,
Dimitris Germanakos sure smelled like the bottom of Batman's shoe after a night of crimefighting in Gotham. ermita's top performer was clearly
Preecha Muengwong. Even six year old fans were wincing at the poor play by
Jhoan Zuleta today.
