Grilled 6 - 2 VICTORIUS

The weather was pretty good at the stadium today for the match. The following players had been selected: Germanakos - Keng Chuan, 其材 (Qicai) - Reddy, Thach, Kwang Tse, Khairul, Parada - Chitre, Ze Han, An Keng.

The following players took the field: Sosa - Paulik, Schoppert, den Harder - Viren, Bussink, Kreuk, Boost, Malović - Såg, Muntz.

Grilled Birds started the game in a 2-5-3 formation, whereas Victory (1981) lined up in a 3-5-2. Grilled took the lead 20 minutes in, after Chad Thach's awkward, but ultimately successful, shot from the right. 1 - 0. Grilled solidified their lead at the 23 minute mark, as Gandhik Chitre snaked the ball through the central line of defense and finished for 2 - 0. Chad Thach let loose a swerving effort from the right that the visitors' keeper did well to tip wide. The visitors got one back when Marco 'De Stofzuiger' Bussink finished off a play from the left and scored after 36 minutes. 2 - 1 was the score. The clock read 37 minutes and things were deteriorating for the away team as Grilled scored another to make it 3 - 1 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for Brian 'Was Born' Reddy. 39 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defense had to look on as 夏 (Ha) 其材 (Qicai) ran straight through, knocking one home to make it 4 - 1 for Grilled. Things were going from bad to worse for the visitors. 夏 (Ha) 其材 (Qicai) was able to squirm through the central defense after 41 minutes and score, bringing the lead to 5 - 1. 5 - 1 was the halftime score. Let's go to the Twittersphere to see what the fans think of the game so far! says With the clock showing 46 minutes, the fourth official held up the substitution board. Chan Ze Han looked to see that it was his number in red, so he made his way over to the sideline and swapped out for Joe Reece, though he would have liked to continue. With 49 minutes played, a typically brave header by Grilled's Lim An Keng from Federico Parada's centered ball looped just over the opposing goalkeeper's desperate reach, making the score 6 - 1. The home side's Brian 'Was Born' Reddy came close to extending the lead after 55 minutes. His shot came in from the right but Martín Sosa managed to push it wide with his fingertips. The visitors replied 75 minutes into the game, reducing the lead to 6 - 2, as Jarno Boost dashed up the middle and chipped the ball over the home team's keeper. Grilled's Chia Kwang Tse saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates 81 minutes in. The referee decided to let play continue for an additional 2 beyond the regular 90 minutes. The match ends 6 - 2. Grilled did a good job holding on to the ball, with 56 percent of possession. We'll be back after these interminable commercial messages.

The most outstanding Grilled player was without a doubt Gandhik Chitre. Good thing Dimitris Germanakos isn't a horse, because he'd surely be sent to the glue factory after that performance. VICTORIUS's best player was Lassi Såg. Even six year old fans were wincing at the poor play by Dex Schoppert today.
