Grilled 9 - 0 Pamputetut

It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 4306 that came out to The Cooking Pot. Carlos Jurrjens was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Petr Halačka and Ángel Roldán. It was a very hot day and some players suffered from this, especially those relying on tough physical play or a lot of fast runs. For the technical ones, on the other hand, this was ideal conditions. The following players had been chosen by Grilled: Law - Jaška, El Khateeb - Trindade, Thach, Keng Chuan, An Keng, Parada - Reece, La Face, Chitre.

Pamputetut's starters: Teura - Tetuanui, Teuru, Teumere - Béhague, Mare, Teiho, Voic - Poroi, Teiva, Miozzari.

It was to be a contest between two different football philosophies, since the home team started the game with a 2-5-3 formation while the visitors instead opted for 3-4-3. After 2 minutes, Federico Parada came in from the right, feinted, then sped past the off-balance defender to make the score 1 - 0, giving Grilled the lead. Grilled put themselves up 2 - 0 when Evandro La Face broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. Joe Reece increased the lead for Grilled to 3 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it! After a savage shot that could only be parried by the keeper, Joe Reece demonstrated his experience by being in just the right place to slot home the rebound. His goal for Grilled 11 minutes into the match made the score 4 - 0. After 19 minutes, the Pamputetut coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving Rino Miozzari off the field. Nalu Temarii took his place. With 23 minutes played, Grilled's Gandhik Chitre almost extended the lead, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net. Grilled's Evandro La Face increased the lead to 5 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 25 minutes. The teams went for the halftime break at 5 - 0. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 74 percent of possession.

After 49 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and Lim An Keng gave the Grilled supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 6 - 0. After 55 minutes, Chad Thach put Grilled ahead 7 - 0 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing. With 57 minutes played, Radovan Jaška of Grilled fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. Grilled's Joe Reece increased the lead to 8 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 68 minutes. At that, Joe Reece was noted down for a hat trick! 70 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game. Mohsen El Khateeb gave Teo Chuan Yong a quick hug as he left the field. Grilled's Joe Reece saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 73 minutes. 84 minutes in, Grilled's Evandro La Face received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. With 85 minutes played, Grilled put themselves up 9 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to Chad Thach, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. Gandhik Chitre would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. Bilal Mohammad Harun entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 89 minutes. 89 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution. Bhavya Panigrahi came on for Radovan Jaška. With Radovan Jaška no longer on the pitch, Teo Chuan Yong took over free kick duty. The players were tired, but when the referee announced that there would be 3 minutes of added time they, nonetheless, welcomed the extra opportunity to make an impact. The match ends 9 - 0. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 76 percent of the ball.

Evandro La Face performed admirably for Grilled. Bhavya Panigrahi turned in a dismal performance, however. The most dominating Pamputetut player was without a doubt Tunui Poroi. Makani Teuru on the other hand, had a terrible day.
