Inmigrante 3 - 5 Grilled
5085 punters turned up at
Inmigrante Arena, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came.
Massimiliano Marco Marella was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Julian Kirchheim and
Richard Lawrence. The following players had been chosen by Inmigrante:
Raymond -
Logren,
Nieśmiałek,
Rauch,
Burgthaler -
Topin,
Legnazzi,
Gaczorek -
Arnal,
Vázquez,
Pakonen.
Grilled's lineup was:
Vadalà -
Jaška,
Webb -
Trindade,
Thach,
Keng Chuan,
Khairul,
Ferzan -
Reece,
La Face,
Chitre.
Inmigrante fielded a 4-3-3 lineup. For Grilled Birds, the formation of choice was 2-5-3. Inmigrante tried to focus their attacks down the middle, taking advantage of their world class (13) level with that tactic. Grilled had several good opportunities to take the lead, especially 6 minutes in when
Gandhik Chitre came up alone against
Arthur Raymond who managed a block. 8 minutes in, Inmigrante appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only inadequate (5). A mistake by the home side's central defence after 16 minutes allowed
Chad Thach to score for Grilled. The scoreboard now read 0 - 1. Grilled's
Joe Reece was shown a yellow card after 21 minutes for slicing down an opponent.
Following a collision in the 22, Inmigrante's
Iván Vázquez complained of a damaged shoulder. He wanted to battle on, but given his medical history, the coach would not let him. The player that took his place was
Festus Wangwe.
Evandro La Face increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 0 - 2. With 42 minutes played,
Chad Thach nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar. A slight injury to his right calf muscle meant
Gandhik Chitre had to leave the match early. It happened after 43 minutes.
Chan Ze Han had already been warming up, and came on for
Gandhik Chitre. Inmigrante's
Jodokus Burgthaler cut towards the middle after 44 minutes, receiving a brilliant pass and slicing through the visiting team's central defence, reducing the lead to 1 - 2. Halftime score was 1 - 2. Grilled had most of the ball, with 62 percent of possession.
During the break, Inmigrante's coach went through the team's tactics yet again, getting them up to solid (7) organisation. 46 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution.
Lim An Keng came on for
Chad Thach. As the 46 minute mark approached, the Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution.
Egemen Dinçer Ferzan reluctantly made way for
Federico Parada on the pitch. After 53 minutes, Inmigrante's
Paweł Gaczorek swiftly ran past
Radovan Jaška and nutmegged the keeper! 2 - 2. The terraces were silenced after 62 minutes when Grilled's
Evandro La Face put the guests ahead 2 - 3, following an attack on the right. After 64 minutes of play,
Jodokus Burgthaler equalised for Inmigrante after an elegant attack from the right. Grilled took the lead 65 minutes into the game, making the score 3 - 4 after some elegant movement down the middle.
Chan Ze Han was the scorer.
Evandro La Face received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 70 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 3 - 5. The Grilled fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. This third goal completed a hattrick for
Evandro La Face. Grilled came close to extending their lead as
Joe Reece delivered a low effort on goal from the right after 76 minutes, but the angle was too narrow and the shot went harmlessly into the side netting. As the match nears its end, the referee has deemed it appropriate to add 4 minutes as stoppage time. The match ends 3 - 5. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 67 percent.
Inmigrante's best player was
Festus Wangwe.
Arthur Raymond turned in a dismal performance, however. Most important Grilled player was
Evandro La Face. On the other hand,
Gilbert Webb's play was disheartening.
