Grilled 3 - 3 Ghost

It was a cloudy day at the stadium today. The following players had been selected: Germanakos - Keng Chuan, 其材 (Qicai) - Reddy, An Keng, Kwang Tse, Khairul, Ferzan - Reece, Thoroddsen, Tokarz.

Lineup: Käser - Abazon, Honus, Adank - Keskinen, Salas, Tuvkvist, Sorgen, Redpath - Denzler, Suna.

Grilled Birds trundled out to the pitch in a 2-5-3 formation. The visitors, FC Ghost, chose to start the game with a 3-5-2 lineup. Grilled used their divine (+7) (27) ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the field. Many fans are yawning as Ghost appears to be more enamored of using their solid (7) pressing skills to smother the opponents' attacks rather than create attacks of their own. But all will be forgiven if it achieves a good result. Aw Keng Chuan got left behind when Ghost's Silvan Suna made a sudden rush forward in minute 7, finishing it off with a clinical strike. 0 - 1! With 24 minutes on the clock, Grilled's Joe Reece found an opening in the visitors' left side, but his shot was handled easily by the keeper. With 36 minutes played, Grilled's Orest Tokarz made a rush down the left, leaving him free to put the 1 - 1 equalizer away. Ghost's Silvan Suna gave the visitors a 1 - 2 lead after 41 minutes with a superb strike from the right. Halftime score was 1 - 2. Well, look at this! Cardi B is on the Enormotron in naught but giant sunglasses and a Twisted Metal F.C. tank top. I've not seen anything like it before. At this time in the match, Ghost were using their skill at pressing to successfully stifle the game. Grilled players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead. After 63 minutes of play, Chia Kwang Tse evened things up for Grilled with an impressive goal coming up the middle. 2 - 2. After 70 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the field, waving Orest Tokarz off. Evandro La Face took his place. With the clock showing 70 minutes, the fourth official held up the substitution board. Chia Kwang Tse looked to see that it was his number in red, so he made his way over to the sideline and swapped out for Hwang Teck Fu, though he would have liked to continue. With 73 minutes played, Gústav Thoroddsen came in from the right with the intention of giving Grilled the lead, but his rocket of a shot could only rattle the crossbar. Grilled were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up coming through the center. After 77 minutes cheers broke out as Gústav Thoroddsen found his way through the guests' central defensive line, rattling the 3 - 2 goal in off the woodwork for Grilled. 85 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game. Gústav Thoroddsen gave Phua Ming Xin a quick hug as he left the field. As the match nears its end, the referee deemed it appropriate to add 1 minutes as stoppage time. The crowd was silenced 89 minutes into the match as the visiting team's Alfred Adank came in from the left, tying the game up at 3 - 3. The match ends 3 - 3. Now to our celebrity commentator for a hot take. Over to you, Snoop! The most outstanding Grilled player was without a doubt Evandro La Face. I can't remember Dimitris Germanakos ever having a worse night than he just had. Ghost's top performer was clearly Eduard Denzler. Even six year old fans were wincing at the poor play by Hector Redpath today.
