Blazing 1 - 7 Grilled

e crowd of 4622 turning up at DABOLLIX BOWL today were greeted with some nasty showers of rain. Girolamo Lamacchia was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Diego Mikulas and Filip Almhall. Blazing had chosen a strategic 2-5-1 formation. They fielded: Rolandsson - Steadman, Cãpraru - Zalcman, van der Krift, Ryan, Geuens, Bruce - Rice.

Grilled tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. The following players had been chosen: Huel-sheng - Pakpao, Tuan-Mu, Siu-Cheung - Kolesov, Paullin, Rottman, Siu-Yue, Stanton - Hobson, Stern.

Blazing seemed to prefer attacking in the middle. Grilled immediately set off using their skill at pressing their opponents. Grilled took the lead after 6 minutes with 0 - 1. Tim Hobson placed the ball out of reach for the home side's keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left. The referee showed Blazing's Nicky Geuens the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. The Grilled player who had to be helped off the pitch, was Au-Yong Siu-Yue as he was unable to finish the game. Antonio Fernández Riviera came in to finish the match. 22 minutes into the game, Blazing had difficulty finding their positions and their organization dropped to inadequate. At this time in the match, Grilled were using their skill at pressing to successfully put pressure on their opponents. Wil Bruce pulled a real crowd pleaser as he, after 23 minutes, wove through the guests' entire central defence and put the 1 - 1 equaliser away. 24 minutes into the game, Blazing had difficulty finding their positions and their organization dropped to wretched. Joe Stern slipped and slithered in the wet grass. His usual rapid runs were nowhere to be seen today. Grilled took the lead 27 minutes into the game, scoring the 1 - 2 goal after some elegant plays down the middle. Joe Stern was the scorer. Antonio Fernández Riviera behaved like an inexperienced youth player after 31 minutes as he gave the ball away to Quinten van der Krift. Lucky for him though, there was no goal. Joe Stern increased Grilled's lead to 1 - 3 with a superb free kick strike that flew in just under the far top corner. After this, Grilled lowered the tempo in order to concentrate on their defensive efforts. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 3. Grilled claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 65 percent.

The Blazing players spent the halftime break getting a rerun of the team's tactical organization and regained a divine organization. Tim Hobson increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley shot away on a pass from the right. 1 - 4. 73 minutes in, Blazing's Kevin Ryan received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Grilled were forced to a substitution as Jon Andrea Rottman couldn't continue playing due to the rough treatment, forcing Weng Seng-Huat to come in from the sidelines. After 75 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for Antonio Fernández Riviera who increased Grilled's lead to 1 - 5. The away team's Tim Hobson took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 81 minutes which increased Grilled's lead to 1 - 6. At that, Tim Hobson was noted down for a hat trick. 86 minutes into the game, Blazing seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a poor level of organization. The visitors' Joe Stern took advantage of an error due to a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and central backs 87 minutes into the match. 1 - 7 for Grilled. This third goal made a hat trick for Joe Stern. The referee showed Grilled's Weng Seng-Huat the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Grilled held the ball, with a clear 79 percent of possession.

Blazing's best player was Jeff Rice. Wil Bruce was a disappointment, however. Most important Grilled player was Lan Tuan-Mu. Weng Seng-Huat was a disappointment, however. The match ends 1 - 7.
