While Grilled certainly enjoyed being in control throughout against Atletico Santana, their not pressing for goals would bite them back, with New York Cosmos earning a 5-1 win over Colo Colo JFC. This meant that, despite both winding up with a +7 goal difference, Cosmos would settle ahead on goals scored.

Senior forward Rinor Isufi took it in his stride. "I felt that having to play with ten men was silly to begin with, and one can't really argue with a two-goal win, in that situation."

This however set the Birds up on a collision course with defending champions Security First, with a repeat of last edition's finals on the cards, assuming both make it through. FC Trinidad & Tobago will hardly be pushovers, definitely, given that they topped Group D without even conceding a goal.

Moey Xin Seng for once was up for the challenge. "Not having Gennady around sure makes it harder, but we didn't do too badly today. Hopefully we'll get some support in attack before long."
