Grilled 4 - 2 Horses

Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 3774 at The Cooking Pot today. Ismail Al-Qudeimi was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Majed Al-Hamadi and Robert Strømsten. Starters: Rykowski - Trung Quá, 入江 (Irie) - Velho, 中北 (Nakakita), Parvathaneni, Mohammad Harun, Thevar - Mudaliar, Ze Han, Xin Seng.

The following players had been chosen: Livnat - Horelli, Ronkainen - Gaľo, Feres, Siikanen, Ståhl, Lanzi - Rasmussen, Jokitalo, Suomalainen.

The teams both lined up their players in 2-5-3 formations. Grilled tried to focus their attacks down the middle, taking advantage of their extra-terrestrial level with that tactic. Grilled broke through on the left 18 minutes into the game, with 悠太 (Yuta) 中北 (Nakakita) firing in from an acute angle to give the home side a 1 - 0 lead. José Luiz Velho increased the lead for Grilled to 2 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it! The referee showed Horses's Jari Horelli the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. The crowd roared its approval when Krystian Rykowski somehow managed to block a shot which seemed to be a certain goal by Horses's Aleksi Jokitalo 20 minutes into the game, following a good move through the middle. Pekka Siikanen was ever so close to scoring after an excellent corner was beautifully flicked on by Joonas Ståhl, but the ball bounced off the post to safety. After 30 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and Chirag Thevar gave the Grilled supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 3 - 0. It was 3 - 0 at the break. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 54 percent of the time.

74 minutes in, an amazing pass from the left side resulted in a goal for the visitors, as Giovanni Lanzi anticipated the through ball and scored, reducing the deficit to 3 - 1. The coach of Grilled was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 80 minutes, Rashid bin Ahmad came on for 雄輝 (Yuki) 入江 (Irie). Chirag Thevar left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 80 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. Pompeo Bellamoli was the replacement. The score became 4 - 1 at 81 minutes into the game, when Grilled were given a penalty which Bilal Mohammad Harun blasted straight down the middle giving the keeper no chance! After 86 minutes Vlastimil Gaľo seized on an opportunistic attack from the right, and scored for Horses making it 4 - 2. The referee announced 2 minutes of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. The match ends 4 - 2. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 52 percent of possession.

Grilled's top performer was clearly 悠太 (Yuta) 中北 (Nakakita). Rashid bin Ahmad on the other hand, had a terrible day. Horses's best player was Joonas Ståhl. However, Aharon Livnat made a disastrous appearance.
