Pires 1 - 10 Grilled

Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 21900 at Piro Dome today. Ville Peurala was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Filip Wontor and Uwe Frühwirth. The following players took the field: Truong - Khairil, Sofian, Nhan - Azmi, Wee Kok, Woon Kum, Soon Long - Zengerink, Ibañez, Tze Lee.

Starters: Batâr - 中北 (Nakakita), Trung Quá - Künzler, Xin Lee, Davlatov, Xin Seng, Romijn - Ze Han, Mudaliar, Parvathaneni.

It was to be a contest between two different football philosophies, since the home team started the game with a 3-4-3 formation while the visitors instead opted for 2-5-3. It seemed as though Grilled considered the game won before even taking the field, which resulted in a very uninspired start to the game. Cyril Künzler gave the visitors the lead 11 minutes into the match to make it 0 - 1. The goal was scored from the penalty spot after a handball in the penalty area. After 12 minutes of play, Lee Woon Kum equalised for Pires after an elegant attack from the right. With 14 minutes played, Grilled's well-worked indirect free kick caused havoc in the penalty area, and when the ball eventually fell to Vikram Mudaliar he gleefully slotted the ball home to make it 1 - 2. With the scoreboard showing that 34 minutes had been played, Grilled nearly put themselves up another goal after Islom Davlatov came through on the left. Fortunately for the home crowd, the keeper made the save. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Islom Davlatov got himself booked. The manager of Grilled was not happy. Hoàng Trung Quá hit the corner kick straight to the keeper, but it was mishandled, giving Grilled's Vikram Mudaliar an easy chance to knock it in for 1 - 3. After 42 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed 悠太 (Yuta) 中北 (Nakakita) to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 1 - 4. Pires's Ang Tze Lee was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 43 minutes. Some fine movement on the left led to a Grilled goal after 43 minutes, making it 1 - 5. Islom Davlatov was noted down as the scorer. 1 - 5 was the halftime score. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 67 percent.

With 54 minutes played, Grilled put themselves up 1 - 6 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was Chan Ze Han. The home crowd was not impressed when Islom Davlatov came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 55 minutes. Grilled were now up 1 - 7. Cyril Künzler of Grilled took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 56 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 1 - 8. The coach of Grilled was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 60 minutes, 雄輝 (Yuki) 入江 (Irie) came on for Hoàng Trung Quá. With 63 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed Chan Ze Han of Grilled to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 1 - 9. 74 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 1 - 10 as Vikram Mudaliar finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. That made three goals for Vikram Mudaliar and he was marked down for the hat trick. Kalki Parvathaneni left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 75 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. Mohammad Ramli Saliman was the replacement. Content with how the game was proceeding, the Grilled coach let Pompeo Bellamoli replace Chan Ze Han after 89 minutes. The players were tired, but when the referee announced that there would be 2 minutes of added time they, nonetheless, welcomed the extra opportunity to make an impact. The match ends 1 - 10. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 67 percent of the ball.

Pires's best player was Ang Tze Lee. On the other hand, Bret Nhan's play was disheartening. Most important Grilled player was Mohammad Ramli Saliman. Valentin Batâr turned in a dismal performance, however.
