Grilled 1 - 5 eagles

scorching day at The Cooking Pot, where 6330 spectators were in place for today's match. Manuel Jarque was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Francesc Belda and Renaud Gourmelon. Grilled decided to use a 2-5-3 set up. The following players had been chosen: Seng - Awyong, Bakhtiar - Shaahee, bin Mohd Kassim, 福泉 (Fuquan) , 勇航 (Yonghang) , Ying Lee - Bellamoli, Kong, Wan Kang.

A 2-5-3 alignment was the formation of choice for eagles. The following players took the field: Imray - Wojner, Johari - Akbari, De Bok, Göray, Cherubini, Endres - Ajanji, Hindawi, Igo.

The home crowd was not impressed by the fancy moves of eagles's Mohamed Hindawi after 7 minutes. He converted a pass from the left for a goal, resulting in the visitors taking the 0 - 1 lead. Having just won a lot of ground following a quick turn of play, eagles were given a free kick at a sharp angle. Rather than going for the direct shot, the defence was bypassed by a few sideways passes, giving Fahd Saleh Ajanji the chance to slip through at goal. Nice teamwork! And 0 - 2, 13 minutes into the game. The home side worked hard to get through the middle and as a result, had a good chance of getting one back as 田 (Tian) 勇航 (Yonghang) tried lifting the ball over keeper Bradley Imray. Unfortunately, the ball went just over the bar. After 35 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed Mohamed Hindawi to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 0 - 3. Colby Awyong of Grilled seemed to be floating in the air as he elegantly headed in to make the score 1 - 3 after a corner kick that was nicely executed by Shiya Shaahee. The home side worked their way through the middle and almost got one back when Chow Ying Lee tried to sneak the ball past the keeper. Bradley Imray was too alert for that! It was a hot and sunny day, and several players seemed worn out. Maybe this was why Pompeo Bellamoli found an unusual amount of space for his snappy footwork. eagles increased their lead after 43 minutes when Fahd Saleh Ajanji broke through on the right, upping the score to 1 - 4, much to the home crowd's dismay. The players of eagles now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 4. Neither team was controlling the possession at this point in the match, with the stats showing a 50:50 split.

The bench was restless, and with 46 minutes passed Grilled's coach gave 梁 (Liang) 力勇 (Liyong) the opportunity the player had been hoping for. 凌 (Ling) 福泉 (Fuquan) reluctantly left the field. Chow Ying Lee found it hard to catch his breath today in the stifling heat. Mohamad Igo of eagles took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 72 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 1 - 5. After 75 minutes, Chow Ying Lee had a good opportunity to reduce the scoreline for Grilled with a chance created through the middle, but wasn't cool enough. The ball went miles over the bar. With 81 minutes played, Fahd Saleh Ajanji nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar. Chow Ying Lee challenged the visitors' central defence eagerly, producing a good chance 82 minutes into the game as he went for a through ball. But, as so many times before, the guests' defensive efforts got the best of it. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Pier Federico Cherubini got himself booked. The manager of eagles was not happy. After 86 minutes Leong Wan Kang could have reduced the lead with a blistering strike from the left wing, had it not been for an excellent block by the visitors' keeper. After 88 minutes, Grilled switched Hilal Bakhtiar with Walter Ross, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch. 田 (Tian) 勇航 (Yonghang) was the new captain of Grilled - handed the armband by the departing player. Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Grilled's 梁 (Liang) 力勇 (Liyong) was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 88 minutes. Rashid bin Ahmad was given a chance to change things around. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by eagles, with 54 percent of the ball.

Grilled's best player was Shiya Shaahee. Dennis Kong was a disappointment, however. The most dominating eagles player was without a doubt Bradley Imray. On the other hand, Mohamed Hindawi's play was disheartening. The match ends 1 - 5.
