Scouse Scourging
At A Low

A listless Grilled were destroyed by German club Red Scouse Power FC in their Tuesday friendly, as the Division Seven club set a course for promotion. Shedding their first-teamers, Grilled were completely clueless, and only some woeful attacking by the hosts prevented a total whitewash.
The writing was on the wall very early on, and English winger Jeffrey Bull took charge of an indirect free-kick just metres from goal after Bao-Tam handled a backpass. Getting the ball rolled to him, he however pinged it wide.

That proved a brief respite, with Henri van Erp crashing a furious shot that nearly knocked Bao-Tam off his feet in the 12th minute. Grilled's defence rushed to clear, but Spanish forward Javier Gurpergui was much faster both physically and mentally, and scooped the ball over the fallen keeper.

Local boy Calvin-Maximillian Schromm then snapped up a half-chance from the next Scouse assault, and repeated his achievement soon after. In between, Nastja Medved lived up to his reputation with a late challenge on Chuancheng that was a definite yellow card.

Urged on by the home fans, Scouse continued their all-out attack, and Grilled were engulfed by the waves. Bao-Tam, who had not had the best of days, missed a cross by inches, allowing Javier Gurpergui an easy header into his net.

Captain van Erp then added a fifth from a difficult position, before being substituted by Mehmet Ildız at half-time. Gurpergui likewise came off for Lucio Cativa, and the Scouse lost some of their bite.

The 40 year-old Cativa did nothing to hurry play along, and the hosts ended up scrabbling for scraps in the second half, with a single missed shot attempted by Silvio Ilardi. Even that was better than what the Birds managed, and the players were only too happy to see the end of the game.
