Wrath Of Eagles

Grilled Birds would taste defeat in the sixth round of the Supporter Week Trophy, though it would be to fellow national cupholders tianying. With this season's repeat, the Guangxi Dragons Elite club achieved what the Birds had, while with their double, the Birds trod the path that tianying had last season. The Chinese giants were no stranger to tournament success either, having swept all before them in the fourth season of the Heroes of 2015 trophy.

The Birds' defensive failings were laid bare in this game, with former internationals Li Aonan and Fan Xiangrong shredding Panigrahi and Jeftić to bits for 2-0 by the 24th minute; Bhavya Panigrahi would not be long for the game as he would be sent off for a second yellow soon after, and it was a miracle that Grilled made it to half-time just four goals down. Moey Xin Seng and Bernie Egan would put two past Cape Verde national keeper Adelino Santíssimo - a S$34.7 million signing - in the second half, but tianying got three more, to finish it 7-2.

Kalle ter Berg had to give it to the opponents. "We got totally outplayed early on, and after going a man down, they were never going to let it slip."

That aside, the Birds would settle at a credible 361st after seven rounds, thanks to an earlier 4-2 victory against French Division Four foes FC Jujucam, in which Kalki Parvathaneni joined Moey and Egan (twice) on the scoring. Austrian III.14 side Rumpelstilzchen 2 were dicier, but they would be left with nine men after the 40th minute, with scorer Diedrich Berkenthin and Jack Warren sent off one after the other. They might well have made it yet, only for Moey and Kalki to overturn their 2-1 lead with goals in the 74th and 79th minutes.

The Buns meanwhile put in further indifferent performances, to close the day at a rather average 9992nd place. They started fairly well against Danish fourth divisioners Chaplainsfield FC, with Saudi striker Ibrahim Zahran Al-Maashany winning it 3-2 by sniping a brace. A very dull nil-all with German Division Six challengers SV Lattentreffer followed, before they were put to the sword by Hungarian Division Four team Sütik, through goals from Brás Almeida Lourenço and Diderich Jung.

Grilled International were scarcely better at 8104th place, with a 6-3 taming of New Zealanders Auckland Shepherds F.C. their only victory of the second day. Safari bin Hj Jali and Wang Chu Chi took full advantage of Stefan Rošić's early dismissal, to collect a brace apiece against the IV.36 representatives.

It then got extremely painful indeed, with Tibor Atzenhain barely able to squeak a consolation against Swiss Division Three favourites Sturmtrupp Helvetica, in a 1-9 drubbing. Queensland third divisioners Cyclones F.C. took a different tack by counterattacking, but the end-result wasn't too far off, with former Lithuanian U-20 star Fortunatas Machnovskis finishing with a hat-trick for 5-2.

There would at least be some salve for International's hurt pride in their late friendly, in which they beat Botswana III.6 hosts En Avant Gumare by seven goals to one, at their The Botswanian Rondoudou. They will however be without defender Arcadi Sansalvador for about two weeks, after he sustained a bad injury to his left knee.
