Globo Spoil Streak
Argentine club Dale Globo, currently pushing back towards Division Two, were the only of Grilled's Trophy of Legends opponents to stick it to them, at the end of the first day. Not that Spanish sixth divisioners molmorja did too badly either, with Tanzanian left winger Ferdinand Malecela nearly making a comeback happen, though the Birds toughed it out to a 4-3 with some dragging.
German Division Six 1. FC Neandertal took the lead twice, but were eventually crushed 2-6, not helped by centreback Eliyahu Argov's dismissal for sliding Mudaliar down - though Grilled were well on the way even before that penalty offence. Finnish Division Four club sexypallo were also up at a point, but an inspired 53rd minute equaliser from
Gilbert Webb preceded a second-half rampage.
It would be left to Globo to prevent Grilled from continuing with their perfect start, with Danish midfielder Kresten Bundgaard a veritable colossus; although he didn't score himself, and picked up a caution besides, he was instrumental in marshalling his team to a 4-3 win.
The Birds couldn't complain too much, from how their opponents had already missed two gilt-edged chances by the eighth minute. "They were vicious out there."
Neeraj Muthyala reflected. "It was some time before we could get on the same wavelength."
