Bannson's 2 - 7 Grilled
957 spectators arrived at Bannson's Raiders Arena, where weather conditions were pretty good for football.
Moritz Berger was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Fokke Eilert and
Víctor Porcel. Bannson's started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Ahmad - Chow-Keat, Lin-Tse, Shiu-Hun - Kem-Wah, Chi-choong, Kiat-Boon, Capella Pons, Anderwald - Pen-min, Hong-Lee.
Grilled had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Lineup: Bao-Tam - Sun-Nee, Tuan-Mu, Dewilde - Dai-Lin, Ju-Hau, Tellskär, Kek-Tjiang, Noor Yadah - Chiew-Yen, Stern.
Some quick footwork on the left side of the field 4 minutes into the match left Grilled's
Ding Sun-Nee completely free to score. 0 - 1 for the visitors.
Li Lin-Tse behaved like an inexperienced youth player after 20 minutes as he gave the ball away to
Ding Sun-Nee. Lucky for him though, there was no goal.
Daniel Tellskär seemed highly inexperienced when, after 23 minutes, he was caught dilly-dallying with the ball and allowed
Ow-Yang Chi-choong to intercept and strike home the 1-1 goal for Bannson's. After 27 minutes of play,
Zhuan Pen-min gave the home team a 2 - 1 lead after an attack coming in from the right. 35 minutes into the game,
José Carlos Capella Pons had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came
Loh Huaxing. 37 minutes into the game Grilled's
Chen Chiew-Yen found a gap in the home side's central defence and scored with a fabulous shot, making it 2 - 2. The referee showed Bannson's's
David Anderwald the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. The Grilled player who had to be helped off the pitch, was
Ma Dai-Lin as he was unable to finish the game.
Peter Magnusson came in to finish the match. Grilled took the lead 41 minutes into the game, scoring the 2 - 3 goal after some elegant plays down the middle.
Peter Magnusson was the scorer. 2 - 3 was the halftime score. Grilled held the ball, with a clear 56 percent of possession.
The visitors'
Joe Stern took advantage of an error due to a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and central backs 50 minutes into the match. 2 - 4 for Grilled. Grilled's
Chen Chiew-Yen got himself booked for a foul. Some fine manoeuvring on the left led to a Grilled goal after 60 minutes, making it 2 - 5.
Ding Sun-Nee was noted down as the scorer. 66 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 2 - 6 as
Joe Stern finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. Unsportsmanlike behaviour by
Chen Chiew-Yen rendered him his second booking of the match, and Grilled had to finish the game with a reduced squad. 74 minutes into the game a free kick by
Joe Stern found its way through the home side's poorly assembled defensive formation, making Grilled's lead 2 - 7. By then
Joe Stern was a three time scorer - a hat trick! After this, Grilled lowered the tempo in order to concentrate on their defensive efforts. The forty-five minutes were dominated by Grilled, with an impressive 51 percent possession of the ball.
Bannson's's best player was
Ow-Yang Chi-choong.
Loh Huaxing was a disappointment, however. The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt
Shen Kek-Tjiang.
Peter Magnusson on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 2 - 7.
