Everything To Fight For

Hovaness Noubaryan had the mien of a child whose candy had been snatched from him, as he was confronted by the loss of two valuable points and further of his captain, when it had all been going so swimmingly with just ten minutes left.

"It was superb spirit from newbies." the Grilled head coach managed. "This has always been a special fixture, and they gave it their all from what I could see. We didn't."

As for Moey Xin Seng, the club would later announce that he had been ruled out against Soon Soon, and was a heavy doubt against -Blitz- next weekend too. The bookies definitely didn't like the look of that, as Grilled's odds against the league leaders instantly dropped a notch.

Then again, it could have been worse, as -Blitz- too found themselves held by ArSenal U21, with only Daniel Ariton's late header from a corner keeping their undefeated streak intact. United Warrior Team had entered administration, to much sorrow from their fans, but they did still manage a 3-3 draw against FC Pires; only Red Chaos bucked the tie trend, and then only by the single goal, with Goh Keng Kang winning it with five minutes remaining.

A similar picture presented itself at Home of M4, as Farmer Bunnies found themselves held by M4 United. Ibrahim Zahran Al-Maashany didn't start as many had hoped, and only came on after sixty minutes with the Buns forwards having failed to polish off several open chances. He wasn't able to do much either, though, and it took a penalty save from Vivian Grubenmann in the 83rd to keep the Buns' bacon from being fried.

Sikong Darong wouldn't have done anything differently, despite the draw. "I thought we did okay, but M4 knew how to defend and delay too. Well, all we have to do is to get the points against Soon Soon; here's to hoping the Birds soften them up a bit in midweek first!"

Only Grilled International found victory of the three, with the outstanding Micky bin Kadir rapidly achieving icon status, with a hat-trick against South African visitors Shaka Zibby. Marten Haarhuis would give Shaka the lead in the 13th minute, but Guschti Boss missed a vital spot kick for them, and they never quite recovered.
