Warrior 8 - 0 Grilled

Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 53392 at Lest We Forget today. Lionel Pigache was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Rubén Sánchez and Antonio Zambrano. Warrior had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Liefke - Rufach, Reviľák, Boschetto - Maldonado, Spiridonov, Rychtář, Vedral, Chi Huat - McCleary, Malik.

A 2-5-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Grilled. Starters: Tian Han - 福泉 (Fuquan) , Filippone - Ping Shun, Meyer, 长春 (Changchun), Won, Aik Jia - bin Mohd Kassim, 勇航 (Yonghang) , Ying Lee.

With 3 minutes played, the home side managed to get a 1 - 0 lead as J. McCleary flipped the ball in after a cross from the right. Warrior's J. McCleary increased the lead to 2 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 19 minutes. Confident in their lead, Warrior's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. It was showtime for artist R. Malik who showed off his technical mastery when he rounded C. Meyer and finished with a goal to make the score 3 - 0. Warrior managed to extend their lead to 4 - 0 when J. McCleary cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. At that, J. McCleary was noted down for a hat trick! Warrior put themselves up 5 - 0 when J. McCleary broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. 5 - 0 was the halftime score. Warrior claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 53 percent.

Warrior increased the lead as J. McCleary struck to make the score 6 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper. Grilled breathed new life into the game with an attempt to reduce the lead after 54 minutes, but the home side's defenders cleared the ball off the line, after a long shot coming in from the left rebounded off the crossbar. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. J. McCleary squirmed through their central defence after 67 minutes, increasing the lead to 7 - 0. A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Warrior to 8 - 0 as J. Vedral finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle. The bench was restless, and with 88 minutes passed Grilled's coach gave R. bin Ahmad the opportunity the player had been hoping for. G. Filippone reluctantly left the field. Warrior enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 55 percent of possession.

Warrior's top performer was clearly J. McCleary. C. Rufach was a disappointment, however. 田. 勇航 (Yonghang) performed admirably for Grilled. 凌. 福泉 (Fuquan) on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 8 - 0.
