Solihin Departs
Solihin Noor Yadah called time on his Farmer Bunnies career a week shy of his 27th birthday, as he transferred to Polish Division Seven club Andrew FC, for a fee of slightly over S$3.4 million.
The academy graduate had been a constant contributor, making 82 appearances, but he could never quite establish himself as one of the Buns' defensive mainstays, given the quantity of talent in the squad. While he made no mention of either the club's latest star signings, or the criticism he received during a poor run earlier in the season, there was little doubt among pundits that these factors contributed to his handing in a transfer request.
Sikong Darong professed himself unhappy to see one of his protégés leave, but fully understood the situation. "Solihin's entering his prime as a defender, and after waiting almost a decade, I've to accept that he deserves to be a keystone for some club. Unfortunately, it wasn't to be here."
Spanish Division Six leaders RCA Igora had Solihin under consideration too, but they eventually went for French journeyman veteran Yann Megard, who made the seventh move of his career from Germany's Scudici. Solihin will thus take on the Number Three jersey at Andrew FC.
Other than that, Chicken Wings trainee Yip Chu Dong signed with Romanian Hattrick International side Saint Lucifer FC on a free transfer, having impressed scouts with his assured footwork. The seventeen-year old will hope to feature in their friendly against Macedonia's FK Tetovo on the first of November.
