The Chicken Wings youth academy announced today that they would be withdrawing from the Best of the Best international league, to instead join the eight-club BASQUE LEAGUE. They will replace the Zhejiang-based Galactica2, whose parent club has unfortunately been dissolved.
"Some contractual issues arose regarding our previous league, and it was judged best to leave and begin afresh." Wings coordinator Jason Tan explained. "BASQUE LEAGUE have a long and rich history of developing young stars, and anyhow it's good to mix it up after awhile. Prevents us from getting stale."
Moreover, the Wings' recent drive to recruit talent early has had some effect, with a flood of fifteen year-olds registered with their main squad. The highly-rated Chan Ze Han aside, Chirag Thevar has been excelling in his rare dual sweeper-striker roles, while Leong How Tze and Aizad Hariri have also displayed considerable promise.
"This is a quite exciting crop." head scout Tham Beng Li said. "Well, it won't take long before we discover just what we have on our hands here."
